Muzakarah Khas Jawatankuasa Fatwa Majlis Kebangsaan yang bersidang pada 17 Julai 2013 telah membincangkan tentang hukum shisha yang memutuskan bahawa shisha adalah haram dan umat Islam dilarang menghisap shisha atau menyediakan perkhidmatan menghisap shisha atau apa-apa aktiviti yang berkaitan dengan shisha.

Kita sudah bincangkan rokok dan shisha dan kita boleh samakan dengan vape. Apabila cukup dapatan iaitu yang pertama membahayakan, kedua ia membazirkan dan ketiga memudaratkan daripada segi kesihatan, maka apabila perakuan-perakuan ini sama, maka kita mengatakannya haram - Profesor Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Abd. Isu ni memang panas kebelakangan ni. Lagi-lagi bila beberapa keping gambar aweks-aweks dengan selamba bertukar jadi naga macam gambar kat bawah ni.

Bukan ke kurang manis kalau gadis-gadis berVape. Bila dah viral, memang habis lah. Tak de nya sokong.  100% caci maki di beri percuma.

Kenapakah Vape ni di haramkan? Adakah di sebabkan cukai? Atau di sebabkan bahan kimianya?

Sebelum itu, baiknya kita tengok dulu kenapa Vape ini menjadi trend terbaru.

Pemilihan Vape berbanding rokok

Bagi mereka yang merokok, bau rokok yang busuk menyebabkan ketidakselesaan orang yang tidak merokok di sekeliling mereka. Selain itu asap rokok juga sangat mengganggu orang di sekeliling. Malah, bila sudah menghisap rokok, puntung-puntung rokok di buang merata. Tengok saja lah di kedai mamak selepas tamat perlawanan bola sepak. Bersepah puntung rokok di lantai.

Bila sudah lama menghisap rokok dan tabiat tu mahu di hentikan, alternatif lain kepada merokok ialah Vape. Kenapa Vape?

Vape yang berbentuk seakan rokok di katakan lebih mesra orang di sekeliling. Mempunyai pelbagai perasa dan bau. Kurang mengganggu orang di sekeliling. Tapi kalau ko dah hisap macam naga, tak kan tak ganggu pulak kan?

Sebenarnya takde beza pun ko hisap rokok ke vape ke, dua-dua mengganggu. Lagi-lagi bila ada anak kecil. Kesian budak-budak tu. Dah la mengganggu, membazir lagi. Sama je. Tak de beza.

Bagaimana Vape beroperasi

Electronic cigarettes use a battery powered vaporizer to aerosolize a liquid that are generally solutions of propylene glycol (a relatively safe diol), glycerol (a commonly used and very safe food and pharmaceutical additive), or both, plus nicotine and flavorant chemicals. The nicotine is usually considered the addictive compound in cigarettes, and the nicotine in the EC is isolated and purified from tobacco plants, so it’s the same one as in any tobacco based smoking product.

The aerosol is inhaled, like a typical cigarette, so the original hypothesis is that it would help wean a smoker from cigarettes by giving them the flavor, nicotine, and inhaling action of a real cigarette, but in a form that many believe is safer than a cigarette. So even if the smoker became addicted to the EC, it was assumed that it was a lot less dangerous than smoking a cigarette. 

They look like the real thing. The end glows as you inhale. As you exhale, you puff out a cloud of what looks like smoke. It's vapor, similar to the fog you might see at rock shows, says M. Brad Drummond, MD. He's an assistant professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

All e-cigarettes work basically the same way. Inside, there's a battery, a heating element, and a cartridge that holds nicotine and other liquids and flavorings. Features and costs vary. Some are disposable. Others have a rechargeable battery and refillable cartridges.

Using an e-cigarette is called "vaping." From a financial standpoint, the electronic smoking manufacturers probably would love to get cigarette smokers to become addicted to their device, moving the profits from Big Tobacco to Big Vaper.

Menggunakan kuasa bateri. Bukan hisap wap air je, bateri tu pun ko hisap gak. Logik tak? Lagi satu, ko still hisap bahan kimia. Yang mana takde faedah!

Boleh mendatangkan kanser

Persatuan Kebangsaan Kanser Malaysia (NCSM) menegaskan, campuran cecair yang digunakan di dalam rokok elektronik boleh menjadi pemangkin kepada penyakit kanser dalam kalangan penggunanya.

Hakikatnya, apabila cecair nikotin bercampur dengan bahan pelarut lain seperti propelyn glycol dan glycerin yang disedut melalui rokok elektronik dan diruapkan kembali ke udara bersama nitrogen oksida, ia boleh menjadi pemangkin kepada kanser  - Utusan

Although safer than smoking real cigarettes, e-cigarettes are still toxic - with some flavourings causing more lung stress than others

"It seems that every day a new e-cigarette product is launched without knowing the harmful health effects of these products," said Irfan Rahman, a professor at the University of Rochester, where the research was carried out 

The harmful vapours seem to be created by when the element inside the e-cigarette is activated to heat the "juice" into an aerosol that can be inhaled like regular cigarette smoke - Mirror

The “juice” is prepared with four things: Propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, super concentrated food flavorings and varying levels of nicotine - Times-herald

In the experiments, mice exposed to e-cigarette fumes suffered mild damage to their lungs and became far more susceptible to respiratory infections.

Their immune responses to both viruses and bacteria were weakened by such an extent that two out of ten animals died.

Scientists also found that e-cigarette vapour contained free radical toxins similar to those found in cigarette smoke and air pollution – although at around 1% of the level of conventional cigarettes. Free radicals are highly-reactive molecules that can damage DNA and cell membranes - The Guardian

Apa yang boleh kita simpulkan, Vape ini sebenarnya juga membahayakan kesihatan. Bila keluar sahaja perasa baru, kita tidak tahu kandungan di dalamnya. Perasa ini di buat menggunakan bahan kimia. Bahan kimia ini juga yang akan menjahanamkan tubuh badan kita.

Jadi kenapa kita pilih untuk merokok atau mengVape? Tepuk dada, tanya iman. Jangan salahkan kawan-kawan, kerana ianya adalah pilihan kita sendiri.
